Two beaches up from Patong is Kamala beach, an up and coming area that is more popular with families and couples. During high season there are many restaurants and bars open along the beach but these along with many others in Kamala close during low season.
Loch Palm is located in the Kathu District, the middle of Phuket Island. Spread over 400 rai (160 acres), this 18-hole, par 72 course has been designed to blend with the natural terrain. The course surrounds the largest lake on any golf course on Phuket.
Phuket Country Club established in 1989 was the first golf course built in Phuket. Although more suited to high handicappers the low handicap golfer will still find the course quite a challenge. The 18 hole course is a par 72 and 6,484 yards long.
